How to make Paneer Butter Masala at Home
Ingredients for Paneer Butter Masala:
paneer butter masalaPaneer- 250 gms
Tomatoes- 3 large or Tomato Puree 2 tbsp
Cashewnuts - 2 tbspMilk- 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder (Haldi)- 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder- 2 tsp
Jeera powder- 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Curry masala- 1/2 tsp
Kasoori methi - 1/4 tsp
Oil+ butter -3 tbsp (1:2)
Cloves- 2
Coriander leaves- Chopped finely for Garnishing
Salt as per your taste


How to make Paneer Butter Masala:

Cut paneer into cubes or strips. Chop onions and grind it to paste. Prepare tomato puree from the tomatoes. Grind cashewnuts to paste. Heat oil and ghee in a pan and add cinnamon and cloves. Add onion paste and fry for some time. Now add the ginger, garlic paste and fry again for some time. Now add tomato puree. Continue to fry till the oil gets seperate and then add turmeric, chilli powder, dhania and jeera powder. Then add cashews paste to the masala. Add milk , cover it with a lid and cook in a slow flame till the masala is well cooked. Add paneer cubes along with garam masala powder, kasoori methi,salt and curry masala . cook for 5 - 10 minutes or till the oil comes on top. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Delicious paneer butter masala is ready. Serve hot with Chapati or naan.

Tips:


For more rich gravy you can add fresh cream instead of milk. If you need more gravy, you can grind 1-2 tsps of coconut along with cashews. You can fry the paneer in oil or use fried paneer and add them to the gravy too. In that case the pieces turns hard and don't absorb the gravy while cooking. An alternative approach is to fry the paneer cubes, soak it in some water for 2 mins and then drain before adding it to the gravy.
